Everybody’s been fretting over Victor Cruz’s drops, the Giants’ awful O-line, and the fact the team is learning a new system. But as a lifelong Giants fan, I knew they’d get it together eventually.
The ground game, lead by newly signed running back Rashad Jennings, was able to power through the Texans’ defense thanks to the absence of JaDaveon Clowney. Jennings registered a career-high 176 rushing yards and made his way into the end zone for a touchdown.
After having a long run of going scoreless at home, Victor Cruz turned on his jet pack. He logged his first 100+ yard game since last November and his first score since last September. It’s also good to see the Giants finally have a credible tight end. We haven’t had a productive tight end who could actually catch since Jeremy Shockey. Larry Donnell has quickly established a trust with Eli Manning catching all 6 of his targets on Sunday.
Next up the Giants face NFC East rival team in Washington. With DeAngelo Hall injured, Cruz and Jennings should help secure win #3.
