Despite this being the best defensive squad Syracuse has had in awhile, many of their in-conference games have gone down to the wire. Facing former Big East rival Pittsburgh on the road tonight was a defining moment for freshman guard Tyler Ennis.
Ennis was quiet much of the game as Pitt owned the boards with Cuse’s big man being out. They out-rebounded Syracuse offensively 16-6. This isn’t a Syracuse team that shoots the ball well. But Ennis has comfortably become the game’s closer in tight games. He proved that with what will be the first of many of his clutch shots on the year.
