The Knicks are bouncing back from the head-scratching trade that brought Andrea Bargnani here in the goal of clearing space. They’ve acquired recently amnestied Metta World Peace (Ron Artest).
Artest announced the agreement while attending the NBA Summer League Knicks vs. Bobcats game this afternoon.Considering Artest is 1 of the best defenders in the league, this is an exciting signing for the Knicks. He’s also coming off a great statistical season in LA. When asked about finally coming to play for the hometown team, Artest said “I didn’t even look at the number, this was way too easy.” Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the deal is for 2 years, with the 1st year being $1.6 million. That’s an incredible value for what Artest brings.
