We’ve seen so many of these guys. Guys who on film have impressive athleticism, play troublesome defense, and are highlight reel mainstays. Yet they don’t stay in the NBA very long or they jump from team to team. Such is the case for Gerald Green.
After Jeremy Lin, Gerald Green may be 1 of the most recognizable names coming out the Developmental League. Playing for the LA D-Fenders, he averaged 19.6 ppg and was 45% from the arc. The problem specifically with Green, though, is he’s not yet a complete player. He has the bits and pieces that make him a solid player off the bench. Yet watching him, there’s obviously some thing missing from his repertoire.
At any rate, the Nets have signed him for another 10 days. Looking at their upcoming schedule and the recent injury of Brook Lopez, Green will likely see an increase in minutes. He may even get to start a few times next week.
